Production Engineer – FRP

Job Summary:

The Production Engineer – FRP will support the fabrication and assembly of FRP-based Odour Control Units (OCUs) and related components. This role involves hands-on exposure to composite manufacturing processes, coordination with shopfloor teams, quality compliance, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely and efficient production.

This position is suitable for fresh engineering graduates seeking practical experience in FRP manufacturing and industrial production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in day-to-day production planning based on approved project schedules.

• Review and study IFB drawings, technical specifications, production cycles, and tools before starting any production activity.

• Support FRP fabrication and R&D activities, including mould preparation, lamination, curing, finishing, and assembly of vessels, ducting, scrubbers, and structures.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as productivity enhancement, waste reduction, tool maintenance, safety practices, and 5S implementation.

• Learn and ensure compliance with approved FRP process parameters, including resin systems (Isophthalic, Vinyl Ester) and reinforcements (CSM, Woven Roving, Surface Veil).

• Assist in checking layer sequence, thickness, workmanship, and basic dimensional conformity as per QAP and quality requirements.

• Coordinate with the Supervisor for manpower allocation, material availability, and consumables tracking, ensuring safe and disciplined shopfloor practices.

• Support internal inspections and coordinate QA/QC activities, including stage-wise inspections, final checks, and proper recording of curing times, resin batches, thickness records, and MTCs.

• Maintain and review daily production logs and reports and share timely updates with reporting managers.

• Coordinate with Design, Procurement, Projects, Dispatch, and Commissioning teams for drawing clarifications, material follow-ups, and overall production support

Education & Qualifications

• BTech -Mechanical or related field

Key Competencies

• Strong knowledge of FRP hand lay-up/spray-up processes.

• Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and production BOQs.

• Hands-on understanding of chemical resistance, FRP laminate buildup, and structural strength.

• Leadership in handling shopfloor teams and achieving targets.

• Awareness of environmental and occupational health & safety practices.
